Terms & Conditions
If you register for one of our courses (in-person or online) or sign up for one of our
memberships, you will first need to accept these terms and conditions. You are being asked
to electronically sign the following Course Agreement and Waiver to participate in our
courses. Please be aware that if you do not sign this Agreement and Waiver and agree to its
terms, you will not be able to participate in our in-person / online courses or memberships. If
there is anything you are uncomfortable with, please let us know - we want to make sure we
are on the same page moving forward. A copy of the agreement and waiver is available to
print online for your records. We may update these terms and conditions at any time and will
be asked to agree to the updated terms and conditions in this event.
IN-PERSON AND ONLINE COURSE AGREEMENT & WAIVER Why You’re Reading This
Document
Our goal is to communicate with honesty and integrity. This online course agreement (the
“Agreement” and “Waiver”) outlines our mutual expectations and the terms and conditions
for participating in our in-person and online courses as well as openly communicating the
risks associated with our courses. It is necessary to have a signed agreement to create a safe
space for all students and staff members.
There are two places to electronically sign (the “Agreement” and “Waiver”)
Part 1: Agreement by signing up for our in-person and online courses and memberships, you
agree to be bound by the following conditions.
1. Parties. This Agreement is made between Healing Light Studios, a DBA of Jessica Mehu
Photography LLC (“HLS, “we”, “our”, and “us”) and you, the undersigned (electronically or by
hand) or person who has clicked “I Agree” to this Agreement (“you” and “your”).
2. The Courses. HLS is providing you with in-person and online educational courses, classes
and activities that you are purchasing, (collectively the “The Courses” and “Activities”). This
agreement for the The Courses covers all of our educational courses, including personal
development courses and coaching (1:1 or in a group setting), yoga courses, meditation
courses, and any other course, workshop, education or activity we offer.
3. Term + Termination. This Agreement will be binding upon your signature at registration for
The Course (including free trial periods) and continues during the entirety of participating
with HLS in any capacity online or in-person. Once signed, you will receive your emailed
welcome letter and information on access to your Online Course. Please note that if you
violate any of the terms of this Agreement, HLS may terminate this Agreement and you will
not be entitled to any refunds or continued working relationship with HLS.
4. Payment. Payment of The Course is due upon completed purchase of The Course, or at the
end of the trial period offered to you at time of purchase. You agree to pay the full tuition
price of what you are purchasing, including the possibility of payments in installments or
recurring subscriptions, of The Course as advertised through our media and website.
4.1 Refunds. All payments are non-refundable. In the event that a live course needs to be
rescheduled, you will be given a credit to use for future courses. In the event you are unable
to attend for unforeseen occurrences, you may be given a credit depending on the
circumstances. You must contact HLS by email no later than 48 hours after the purchased
scheduled event to request this credit.
4.2 Memberships/Subscriptions are enrolled in autopay, reoccurring monthly at the agreed
upon price. If you are signed up for our “Financial Hardship”plan, proof of state assistance
must be submitted to us in person or by email with-in 7 days of enrollment. You may change
your membership type or cancel your membership at any time. We work on a trust system at
HLS, and trust that if you are no longer experiencing financial hardship, you will adjust your
membership accordingly. We also understand that circumstances change and you may no
longer be able to afford the “Pay it Forward”membership. Please adjust your membership as
needed for your comfort. We appreciate your honesty and integrity in working with us to
make our services accessible to all.
4.3 Payment Failure. In the event that you break your agreed upon payment plan, you will lose
access to the Course. If you experience an extenuating life circumstance (ie; death in the
family, job loss, natural disaster, etc) that requires you to discontinue or postpone your
tuition requirements or course participation we require notice of the issue in writing to
info@healingLS.com within seven days of the incident. HLS will then determine the most
equitable and appropriate course of action in regards to your financial situation and
participation ability. Memberships can also be paused at any time by you with-in your
members portal on our site.
5. Individual Login Access. Any passwords and user IDs used to access the Online Course as
part of this Agreement are for your individual use only. You are responsible for the security of
your password and user ID and for all activities that occur under your user ID and password.
You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your password or account or
any other breach of security. You further agree that HLS will not be responsible for the
unauthorized use of your profile by any other person and is under no obligation to confirm the
actual identity of any password or user ID.
6. No-shows/cancellations (in-person courses and all 1:1 appointments). Space and time is
limited in our in-person courses and all 1:1 appointments, and we ask that you act in a
respectful manner towards the practitioner and fellow students by cancelling your booking
at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. If you experience an extenuating circumstance
(emergencies, onset of illness, etc) with-in that time period, you agree to contact the
practitioner directly to inform them of the event, or email HLS at info@healingLS.com. No-
shows with no notice from you of the circumstance with-in 48 hours of your booking will not
be tolerated and will result in loss of access to The Courses/Memberships.
7. Responsibility. The Courses are a rigorous immersion educational program. You are
responsible for your experience and well-being while participating in the Courses. You agree
to support the training environment and contribute to a safe, respectful, and positive
experience for everyone.
7.1. The practice of yoga, meditation, inquiry and related techniques can produce nonordinary states of awareness, and the Course instructors and staff are not responsible for
managing every student’s personal needs. The curriculum for the Courses have been
designed to create the optimal education for the majority of students, and your specific
experiences may be different from others and different from your expectations.
7.2. If you experience uncomfortable emotions, feelings, physical pain or discomfort, mental
anxiety, stress, or depression, you agree to seek professional assistance from a qualified
therapist or medical practitioner outside of this program. You understand that our
practitioners are instructors, coaches and guides. Not medical practitioners. The Courses
are not to be substituted for medical care or mental health therapists.
7.3. The study of yoga and meditation involves exploring and discussing different belief
systems. You agree to respect all the ideas and practices that are presented as part of the
Course curriculum. Participating in the Courses does not require or advise you to change
your beliefs in any way.
8. Your Conduct. You are solely responsible for all videos, images, information, or other data
that you upload, publish, or otherwise use via the Online Courses, if applicable. HLS reserves
the right to remove any kind of offensive or inappropriate content from the Online Courses,
and to suspend or terminate your access to the Online Courses in such an event.
8.1.Interactions within the Courses. HLS is a safe space for all. You are expected to act
respectfully towards others throughout the Courses and across all relevant platforms. You
are responsible for your own actions and interactions with any other student in connection
with the Courses. HLS will have no liability or responsibility in this regard, however we
reserve the right, to become involved in any way with disputes between you and any other
participants. Racism, bigotry, sexism and discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and
will result in termination of courses and all participation with HLS.
9. Confidentiality. You understand that we provide space in an intimate setting in which
people may share private and confidential information about themselves or others.
Therefore, you agree to respect and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of anything
shared among participants in-person and online across the platforms we utilize, including
after it has been completed. This section shall survive the termination of this Agreement.
9.1. You further agree not to post or publish any text, screenshots, videos, or audio
recordings of other individuals or download or share any course material provided by HLS or
another participant outside of this Online Course.
10.No Guarantees. As this is an independent study arrangement, it is up to you what you get
out of the Courses. No guarantees can be made for the results from the Courses.
11.Ownership of Intellectual Property. All materials provided in connection with this
Agreement, including without limitation, written or printed documents, photographs, audio
and video recordings and software programs, and all copies and derivative works relating
thereto (the “Course Materials”), are and will remain the sole and exclusive property of HLS.
You have a limited, non-exclusive right to use the Course Materials to the extent necessary to
your personal learning experience.
11.1. An example of something you are not allowed to do with the Course Materials would be
to create a photocopy or reproduce the Course Materials and give it to a friend or sell it to
someone.
11.2. Another example would be to use the Course Materials or other proprietary concepts
and techniques to create your own online program, or to provide them to someone else who
intends to do so.
12.Loss of Access. HLS retains the right to revoke your access to our online and\or in-person
offerings and any Course Materials in the event that you do not make your payments or if you
steal any of our intellectual property, or engage in inappropriate or offensive conduct. Access
suspension due to non-payment will be restored once you pay your full amount owing.
13.Third Parties. You are prohibited from sharing any information, or content including
videos, audio recordings, PDFs and other course materials that you receive through the
Courses with any third parties, without our consent. In the event that you do share any
information received or downloaded from the Courses, HLS will exercise our full legal rights
to remedy the situation, and may terminate your course access without refund.
